The late Helen Keller wrote: “The World is sown with good; but unless I turn my glad thoughts into practical living and till my own field, I cannot reap a kernel of good.” On this Labor Day Weekend as we honor all the workers throughout the United States, we encourage our younger generations to look up to their elders and be inspired by the sacrifices they make to provide the good things in life for them. At the same time, I urge them to respond to such efforts with generous hearts and lives by assisting their parents, their loved ones and their neighbors through real actions! Let the example of Helen Keller show us that we all can do it if we truly trust in God and one another in this journey of life. I remind you that this Monday, September 6th (Labor Day) we will have a special mass for the Blessing of Human Labor starting at 9 am. The 8 am has been preempted for this special celebration where we will bless all “workers” in our Parish.
